Everything installs.
Your purchase page gives you a small installer file — double-click it and it installs the whole studio: a private copy of every runtime it needs, in one folder, with no admin rights and nothing added to your system.
What your computer needs
- Windows 10/11 (64-bit), macOS on Apple Silicon (M1 or newer), or Linux x64
- ~10 GB free disk space (the installed app is ~5.5 GB)
- A normal internet connection — ~2 GB downloads once; expect 15–30 minutes
- An AI provider key, pasted into Settings after install
- Nothing pre-installed: no admin rights, no Node, no Python

What actually happens
After checkout, your purchase page has Windows installer and Mac installer buttons (and a one-line terminal command that does the same thing, which is how Linux installs). Run it and the installer prints its progress as steps [1/12]…[12/12]while it downloads the app and sets up its own private runtimes. When it finishes, the studio opens in your browser. It's a local web app — it runs at an address like http://127.0.0.1:3000 that only your computer can reach.
Everything lands in one folder — %LOCALAPPDATA%\GZOOMediaStudio on Windows, ~/GZOOMediaStudio on Mac and Linux — along with a Desktop shortcut and a Start/app menu entry for everyday starting and stopping. No services, no registry entries, no system packages. Uninstalling is deleting that folder and the shortcuts.
Your computer will warn about the installer file — that's expected. On Windows, browsers flag every downloaded .cmdfile the same way — it's not a judgment about this one. Choose Keep in the browser, then Run in the Windows prompt. On a Mac, Gatekeeper blocks the downloaded .command file the first time: click Done(not "Move to Bin"), then System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway→ confirm. (macOS 14 and earlier also accept right-click → Open.) If you'd rather not, paste the one-line command from your purchase page into PowerShell (Windows) or Terminal (Mac) instead — it does exactly the same thing.
If something interrupts it
Lost connection, closed window — just run the installer again. Finished steps are skipped and it resumes where it stopped.
Updates work the same way
When a new version ships, you grab a fresh link from your purchase page and re-run the installer. Your projects and settings live in a data/ folder outside the app itself, so they survive every update by construction — and if an update fails midway, the installer puts the previous version back automatically.
